PREVIOUS PROJECTS & EVENTS

Bayview Pop Up Community Pop Up Market (2015 - 2018)
Weekly Pop Up Market (always on Thursdays) featured food and beverage and craft and marketplace vendors. The pop up market began with 6 vendors at Market On Third, and when it outgrew that space after 6 months we moved to the Ruth Williams Memorial Theatre for 14 months. When the Ruth Williams Memorial Theatre closed for renovations, the Bayview Pop Up Community Market was the first programming scheduled in Building 12 of Pier 70. The pop market operated at Pier 70 for a year before closing.

Community Tuesday (2013-2016)
Developed in collaboration with Radio Africa & Kitchen (RAK) to provide an accessible environment and price point for the Bayview community. This weekly Tuesday evening engagement included: Dinner and a non alcoholic drink was $10/person (with choice of 4 entrees) a commitment made by RAK; and programming included: Comedy Nights, Movie/Documentary Night - including the Charlie Walker Story. Community Tuesday did the first local fundraiser for ‘The Last Black Man In San Francisco’. We also did storytelling, craft night and sip and paint nights. Live/D.J. music was a staple at each Community Tuesday.

Bayview CONNECT (2010 - 2012)
Hosted at the Ruth Williams Memorial Theatre on the first Thursday of each month, the principles of Bayview CONNECT were simple. Create an easy two hour networking event for Bayview residents and businesses to connect.
The two hour activation included:
-
A photographic loop of activities that had taken place in the Bayview in the past month (as many as we could gather)
-
A Bayview food and beverage business would provide food for sale - two choices (including a vegetarian option). The business owner would also have 2 minutes to introduce their business to attendees during the 30 minutes program that was scheduled at mid midpoint of the event.
-
The first ten people to sign up received one minute to introduce themselves, their business or a community project that they were working on.

Bayview Tree Lighting (2012 -2019)
On the Thursday before Thanksgiving the Ruth Williams Memorial Theatre and collaborating partners, including En2action would gather at the Ruth Williams memorial Theater to light the Holiday Tree on the Newcomb Plaza (and before that on the veranda); as well as light the holiday bells sponsored by San Francisco Public Utilities Commission. En2action’s role was to source and organize the marketplace vendors as well as identify, permit and assist food and beverage operators.
